This weekend was a blur.  One of last *less* busy weekends (but still jammed packed) for the rest of the summer.  It’s crazy to think the summer is half way over.
We finished off Saturday with dinner and a stop at the beach for the watch the sunset.  We live so close to the coastline but rarely take the opportunity to actually go.  Honestly, I’m not much of a beach person (unless we’re in Australia and the water is crystal clear :)), but I do enjoy a good summer sunset.  Ones that shade the sky with warm hues of pink and orange. Jax loves being outdoors with the wind in his face and sand in his mouth.  Umm what….!  ha.  Yes, I turned away for a split second and his mouth was all brown and sandy {total bad mom moment}.  I don’t think he actually got much in his month, but still.  I wasn’t sure if I should be worried or laugh.  We decided to just shake him off, and realized the chances of sand poisoning was low.
I especially love our Sundays. Our church, Saddleback in Lake Forest, has the prettiest landscape.  I appreciate that you can hear the service from the outdoor areas.  Its perfect for families who need to attend to little ones and benefit from hearing the message at the same time. It works so well for us!  Except for church, we usually don’t plan much of anything and try to be flexible with anything that pops up – brunch, shopping, errands, etc.  It’s a good day to recharge spiritually and catch up on life, and ourselves in general.
Hope you had a nice weekend!
xo, Lydia
