Velvet Crush

I am a big fan of ALL Fall trends. But the thing I’m most excited about this year is…VELVET! More so than years past, I’m not sure why. I don’t think velvet is the most flattering texture, the way it crinkles and picks up light, it can sometimes give off weird shadowing or bulging, but it just feels warm and cozy to me, and I am picking up velvet pieces left and right. I just wish it was cold enough to wear it more. Temps have been in the 90s and 100s and its killing me!

I picked up this velvet dress at Anthropologie and have already worn a few times. Its one of those dresses that you wouldn’t pick up just seeing it on the hanger. I saw it online first (on a model) and loved the blue shade, so went in-store to check it out. It also comes in a vanilla color that is fab.

I paired it with these open toed bootie. I love these by Kristen Cavalleri and have worn them to death the last 3 years! Its one of the brand’s classic shoe and NEVER goes on sale. Trust me, I search for them often since I want to get them in the tan color too. The block heel is super comfortable too.

Hope you guys are having a great week! Jaxson turned 23 months this week so I’m just soaking up all this toddler goodness! I can’t believe he is almost 2! I haven’t shared an update on him in a long while but I think I will next week.
