People often ask how I wear dresses all the time while having to run around after Little J. Well, the short answer is its very difficult. period. But I refuse to loose my personal style in this journey called motherhood, and I like the challenge of putting together looks that I love but that are also appropriate for mom life.
I am dress lover through and through. Dresses are amazing since its super easy to appear put together and effortless in (and total time saver which great when you have a toddler hanging on you every minute), but it can be awkward to bend down or move around with ease. My secret to wearing dresses are 1) comfortable booties and 2) a button up shirt to wrap around the waist. Number 2 especially helpful with my shorter dresses. Remember when wrapping your jacket around your waist was so cool in Junior High (or elementary school or even preschool for you young ones!)? I’m so glad its a trend now and hope it never goes away.
Anyway, shift dresses plus booties plus shirt around waist has kind of become my signature style. Most days, I almost don’t even think about it. I automatically reach for a dress and matching shirt in the mornings.
In other news, I love that I got some photos with Little J and he’s actually SMILING!!! That almost never happens anymore. The minute the sees the camera, he turns away or wiggles out of my arms. I love love it when he genuinely smiles into the camera.
