I usually get a lot of questions about what I do with my days living in Orange County. Since it’s a vacation destination to many around the country, I think people envision me lounging poolside at 5-star resorts, dining at the best steakhouses and/or bars, and riding waves in Newport Beach. Well not so much. My days are a bit more simple, but not any less fun! The beauty of Orange County is that we have so many shopping centers and fun things to do for the whole family at every corner, everything from trendy and high-end to casual and family-friendly.
Recently, I discovered the Retail Therapy app which helps me find deals all over OC. When I head out to my favorite shops or restaurants, I first check the App to see what discounts are available. For shopping, I usually head to Fashion Island or Irvine Spectrum Center. Fashion Island is especially great during the summer months. What is better than perusing my favorite shops outdoors in that warm California sun. Speaking of shops, I always stop in Anthropologie, Express and Bloomingdale’s to name a few. Shopping is usually followed by lunch at my favorite spot, Bloomingdale’s 59th & Lex Cafe! They have the most delicious selection of salads and shareable entrees. And right now with the app, you can get 50% off one menu with the order of another. Definitely a fabulous place to bring a friend!
To shop for the fam, I love Irvine Spectrum Center. They have so many great kids shops like Cotton On Kids and my personal favorite, Jeannie N Mini. They have the best selection of kids clothes, baby gear and toys! Needless to say, Jaxson gets excited about stopping in. I can’t remember a time when we DON’T walk out with a new lego toy or new book.
Another family favorite OC location for us is Color Me Mine at The Market Place in Tustin! I love to see Jaxson get creative…even if his cow looks more like a brown bear. 🙂
And lastly, one of our most frequent stops is Churned Creamery at Woodbury Town Center in Irvine for the best ice cream in town! I don’t really discriminate when it comes to ice cream, but Churned definitely has the best menu with so many flavors of rich ice cream and their trademarked CroCream (basically a sundae in a croissant!)
I could go on and on with favorite spots in Orange County, but my number one recommendation would be to download the Retail Therapy app and check out all the best deals and find your new favorite spot!
