5 days into the new year and this basic neutral look really speaks to how I’ve been feeling so far – comfy, simple but also with a little pep in my step.
From the holiday rush to suddenly nothing at all has been slightly depressing, but also a relief. I have been focused on getting my house (cleaning up the decor and finding room to store all of Jaxson’s presents) and life (goals and plans for the year!) organized, so I’ve been opting for simplicity in other areas of my day-to-day.
Neutral jeans and a flowy blouse is the ultimate easy comfort! Comfort is always key when you’re busy, but I hate to sacrifice looking cute and stylish, and I believe an good suede OTK boot always does the trick. I usually put together an exact variety of this look when I’m busy or have lackadaisical weekends. Its an easy way to take up the mom style up just a notch.
In other news, I’m on day 5 of my NO Sugar cleanse! Which is also another reason why I’ve had to keep things easy and simple. Meal planning and looking up what I can and cannot eat has taken so much time and energy. Honestly, giving up sugar hasn’t been as hard as i thought it would be. I have to be more thoughtful about what I put in my body, but there are plenty of good foods that area wholesome and sugar free. Which I guess is the point of going on a cleanse and resetting your body. The hardest part has been finding things to snack on throughout the day. AND…I realized how much I actually snack or just look for something to munch on. Going to the grocery stores takes me double the time now since I read every label before I put it in my cart. But I have found some great things that are sugar free. Maybe I’ll share in a future post. Oh yeah…and its almost impossible to eat Chinese food. The food of my people are so high in sugar, carbs, msg, etc. ha! Giving up noodles is like giving up a child. I try not to think about it.
Anyway, 5 down, only 26 more to go…. 😐
