Mom Life: Baby Food Recipes

I’ve been meaning to do a Baby foods post for awhile since Jax has been enjoying solids for over a couple months now.  I’m so happy he eats so well. Basically anything we put in front of him.  Veggies, fruits, meats…he loves it all.
We use the Baby Bullet system to blend all his foods. Its great – it has a lot of little containers for easy storage and travel and comes with 2 blades for blend variations.  Its definitely one of the best gifts I received at my shower.
The last couple weeks, I’ve started to give him chunkier and thicker foods to allow him to adjust to new textures. And we’ve even started to give him snacks like puffs from Plums Organics and Happy Baby. Its great to keep him occupied when we’re out too!
Most of the time, we just buy a bunch of random organic fruits and veggies at the store and mix it up, enough for a couple days.  But when I have time, I like to try some of the best recipes I find on Pinterest or other blogs.  Some of them are so creative with added yogurt, protein and all the good stuff.  Here are some of my fave baby food recipes.

Zucchini and Potato Puree recipe of Once a Month Meals.  Main ingredients include:
2 cups zucchini, peeled & cubed
2 cups potatoes, peeled & chopped
0.66 cups vegetable broth
1 Tbsp olive oil
0.5 salt
Directions:
Boil potatoes until soft. Saute zucchini in olive oil and salt. Cover and cook on medium low until soft. Puree potatoes and zucchini in blender with vegetable broth. Serve warm.

Apple, Spinach & Pea Puree from Baby Foode. Ingredients include:
2 organic Apples
1/4 cup organic Spinach, packed
1/4 cup organic frozen peas
Directions:
Core and chop apples. Place all ingredients into steamer basket, cover, and heat for 10 minutes over boiling water.
Let cool slightly. Transfer all ingredients into blender and puree for 30 seconds or until smooth, adding water from steamer in 1/4 cup increments if needed.

Lemon Chicken and vegetables from Weelicious.  Ingredients include:
1 chicken breast
1 cup broccoli florets
1/2 cup yellow squash, chopped
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon vegit
Directions:
Cook the chicken breast in a steamer pot over boiling water for 4 minutes. Add the broccoli and yellow squash and steam an additional 4 minutes or until chicken is cooked through and vegetables are fork tender. Place all the ingredients in a food processor and pulse. Cool and serve.

What are your favorite baby recipes?
