The hubbs and I got the opportunity to do a quick getaway {just the 2 of us!} a couple of weeks ago. We hated leaving Baby J at home, but I have an unreasonable fear of the measles right now. Its gnarly, and I’d rather not have sick baby. So we jetted off for 3 nights to Oahu. We had big plans to explore the island and act like kids with no responsibilities. and then John got sick. Like fever and chills kind of sick, and all those plans were replaced with nursing the flu in our hotel room. I did get to lounge by the pool and beach a few hours each day so it wasn’t a total loss. And let’s be honest, I got to sleep in and not worry about feeding or nap schedules. So no matter what we were doing, it was a vacation indeed!
Well if you have the opportunity to Oahu for a few days, and everyone stays healthy, here are 5 things to do:
1. Learn to surf – Can’t think of a better way then to learn than in the surf capital of the US.
2. Go to the North Shore – Not a place for amateur surfers but a visit might just inspire you to do #1 {see above}
3. Attend a Luau – Hawaiian feast and hula dancers! Need I say more.
4. Pearl Habor Memorial – For the history buff in your travel group.
5. Hike to Manoa Falls – For those looking for just a easy and quick outdoor adventure, this trails takes you to the water falls which was the backdrop for several scenes in Lost and Jurassic Park.
