Hope you all had a great holiday weekend. It went by super quick like all holidays. We spend Memorial day hanging out in the Old Town San Juan Capistrano. I’ve always wanted to try Ramos House and it did not disappoint. I would say it was worth the 20 minute drive.
The area around train station and SJC Mission is so cute. Very rustic and green. We had a blast walk around the park and the butter sanctuary while we waited for our table. Baby J wanted to eat all the flowers and almost succeeded a couple times. It is unbelievable how quick the hands of a 6 month-old are. Did you guys notice his hair is finally starting to grow out! 🙂 His hairline was unfortunate as a newborn so we shaved it off. Asian parents believe shaving babies head will give them better hair as adults, so my mom insisted. He looks pretty cute as a baldy so I didn’t really mind. It is actually starting to grow out well, except on the top! ha. Its slow and steady.
On Sunday we went out to breakfast at Mother’s Market cafe and the hostess said something pretty incredible. She said, “please sit anywhere that will make you most comfortable”. Most days I wouldn’t flinch, but now with a very grabby and vocal infant, comfort is usually the opposite of what I would expect when eating out. I was taken aback by her kindness and very much appreciated her awareness. More restaurants should be so hospitable. Perhaps families would be more relaxed and go out to dinner more as a family. And much to my surprise, we got the same level of service at Ramos House as well! The restaurant is super small, and even with limited space, the hostess offered us a table with room for our stroller! How amazing is that! I don’t know about you, but I’m usually not down with leaving my overpriced stroller outside amongst the randoms and out of my sight. I know, sounds weird, right. I think I’m more anxious of someone touching it with their dirty and diseased hands. ha! I know…its an irrational fear. Anywhoo, I love when restaurants make room for ALL of us!
Have a great week everyone!!
