Ladylike at the Langham

I love living in Southern California. Within a short drive {without traffic}, you can be in the mountains, the beach, forest and bustling urban cities.  We often take our where we live for granted, so John and I decided we would reserve some weekends to explore or reintroduce ourselves to some of the best places in SoCal.  The first is Pasadena.

I’ve always wanted to dress and attend high-tea at a fancy restaurant.  Since it was MOther’s Day weekend, John said we could do whatever I wanted.  Cha-ching!  I don’t think I could have gotten him to drive an hour away for..umm…tea. Boys just don’t get it. I’ve always wanted to check out the beautiful property at the Langham Huntington in Pasadena and I knew they served afternoon tea so it was the perfect place. But…not so perfect for a feisty little toddler.  Prim, proper and lots of breakables on the table.  Needless to say, we couldn’t just enjoy the afternoon sipping on tea and light bites.  We hurried and gulped down that tea like it was out job.  We decided to just hang out outside on their beautiful lawn. It was actually a really great day!
This Chelsea28 x Olivia Palermo dress made me feel alittle like Gone with Wind, and the gorgeous staircase just added to the affect.  I am not usually a fan of tiered ruffles {not usually flattering unless you’re a supermodel} and neck-ties, but this dress just worked for some reason.  I guess I can’t resist anything from OP.
