It’s good to be a girl….with Vera Bradley!

I am most comfortable in classic feminine dresses. The way it moves, the way it drapes over my shape and simply how dresses makes me feel…I am all about it!  This red dress is the quintessential girly girl dress in my opinion.  But flirty little dresses, big bows and pink lips are not only the things I love about being a girl.  I wouldn’t consider myself a feminist but I do believe that truly women are rockstars and the very glue that holds our society together.  So when Vera Bradley asked me why I love being a girl, as part of their global campaign, I jumped at the chance to tap into the things that make me a happy and confident women. 

First, I believe women are the ultimate multitaskers. Sometimes I look back at the things I get done in single day and can’t quite figure out how it was all possible.  I cook dinner while holding a 30 pound toddler in one arm.  I actively carry a conference call all while coloring with my son or folding laundry.  And so many other things you don’t realize can get done until its done. I feel like these skills are innate.  Its in our nature to not overthink simple tasks and just make it happen.  We are good moms, home makers, entrepreneurs, corporate mavens and all around girl bosses!

Secondly, I love that women get to shape the future through motherhood.  And in large part, that task is up to us alone.  Our bodies get to create life and our nurturing turns into future leaders and contributors to modern society.  I don’t think there is any great power than that!

And lastly, and the most fun of all, is that I get to express, invent and re-invent myself through fashion.  With seasons, trends and available designers, we have so many options to show off our mood, personal style and creativity.  I love the option to wear all black when I need to be effortless, or a ball gown when I want to look/feel fancy, or leather everything for a bit of edge.  Women can surprise, delight and inspire through fashion choices alone.  It is the best feeling.
