Investing in Yourself {Fitness}

Moms catch a lot of flack for doing things for themselves.  We are expected to do everything, be everything (career driven, attentive mothers, and model wives) except the happiest versions of themselves.  I honestly try to block out all the negatives and naysayers.  I truly believe that to make your family happy, you also have to strike a balance to make yourself happy.  There is a reason why on airline safety procedures they tell you to put on your mask first before helping others. I know that in real life putting yourself “first” is not always possible, which is why I mentioned “balance”.  That B word also gets a bad wrap, but I mean it in whatever manner which makes sense for your life.  And for me that balance is different everyday, but I try to invest in myself whenever I can.  And I know most days I only have enough to pour into my family, my work or whatever else is going, but I’m OK with that.  The thing with balance and investments is that you have to take the wins and losses, the good and bad and the up and downs.

One of the biggest ways I am investing in myself is fitness.  As I write this I actually haven’t worked out in almost 2 weeks due.  John has been traveling so much so I’m having to fill in the shoes of both parents.  So I am eager to get those endorphins flowing again, and as soon I am able, I have saved up lots of points to re-invest in this area where I know will reinvigorate my body and my mind again.

Fitness is just one area that I invest in myself though. Sometimes I need time with friends, to read a good book or good old retail therapy.  Whatever you need, I encourage you to find that little bit of joy and invest in it. I promise you and your family will reap the profits.

As for the look, I wear some version of this look 2-3 days a week!  Sometimes I wonder if Jaxson’s teachers think I only own workout tanks and leggings.  🙂  This jacket is so soft, and it is cute enough to wear with jeans!   I also fell in love the Onzie brand.  They fit my petite body so well.   The black sheer panel leggings are high waisted and falls just below my ankles which never happens with full length leggings!
