My new favorite reality show is Southern Charm. I know, I know…such quality TV. Looking into the real lives of random people weirdly interests me. And obviously I’m not alone or networks like Bravo and E! wouldn’t exist. Southern Charm follows the lives of the Charleston elite, and of course they have a style all their own. I love it…the women always look ready for a garden tea party. Wearing hats always reminds me of the the prim and proper lifestyle of the South {and also the Brits, but my love for Kate Middleton deserves another post of its own}. Fedora hats are on repeat lately. It goes well on crisp winter days and I’m currently loving it with spring dresses. Color is slowly taking over my closet. yay!
Back to Southern Charm…Of course every good reality comes with its own set of drama. For instance, one of the main characters {an aspiring politician} got a girl pregnant {typical!}. And his latest “conundrum” involves his girlfriend not having any time to do anything else {like cook dinner} except care for their infant daughter. He boldly points out that “somehow my mother was always able to get dinner on the table and ready for us to eat”. He goes on to mention that he “expects” someone to come close to that standard. It’s pretty hilarious. This dude forgets that in his mom’s day, there was no Facebook, Instagram or DVR to entertain and distract a bored housewife/mommy. Also women now have jobs, dreams and career aspirations. There’s just too much happening nowadays to just be barefoot and pregnant and be a good little wifey. Anyhow, more drama ensues from here…it’s great. Go watch it!
