I had heard that with your second and subsequent pregnancies you pay less attention. And its so true! I forget how pregnant I am most days, and only when my jeans don’t zip up like normal is when I’m giving it a second though at all. Perhaps its the busyness of already raising my first born, or simply because the newness and all the “firsts” are just not nonexistent. There is no need…to research every unfamiliar symptom because they are all too familiar, or spend hours on Pinterest searching for the best baby gear because you have them all tucked away in the garage. I am not even keeping track of what size vegetable or fruit the baby is this week! Is that bad?!
The second time around does indeed go by faster! So fast in fact that I’m half way through already…can you believe that!?! I’m 20 weeks and haven’t even had a chance to share our gender with you all. Such the horrible pregnant blogger! Well, I promise to do better on the next 20 weeks and share more updates and more pregnancy related things. Life has been a bit crazy lately, but I know I will regret not documenting some of this journey.
Well without further ado….we are having….
…another perfect baby BOY! God is always faithful and in many prayers I asked for a child as perfectly made as Jaxson. And well, He has shown me time and time again that He never fails!
By the time #2 is born, new baby and Jaxson will be 4 years apart (their birthdays just a couple weeks apart). And one of my most asked question is why we decided to space them out a little farther apart then the traditional 2 years. Well, first I say, there is no standard. Every family looks different and as parents, you do whatever works best for you family. But for us, truthfully, we didn’t feel ready to share Jaxson or our time with anyone else for a little while. At one year post pardum, I was finally starting to feel normal and back to my old sense of self, and I wanted to revel in that a little while longer before even thinking about popping out a another baby. In his 2s, both John and I were super busy with work, and the blog was gaining a lot of momentum and actually starting to become a real career, so I wanted to put a lot of energy and focus on that. I have always been more career-driven and less the stay-at-home mom type so it doesn’t surprise anyone that knows me. Right around Jaxson’s 3rd birthday, we really felt like God was telling us it was the right time. HE was working on big things for our family and growing it was one of them! And when God calls, we listen! So here we are, baby boy #2 will be here in November!
The other question we get a lot is regarding names. Honestly, I have no idea! My obsession with all things with the Royal family has me thinking of very regal names like Willam or George, but we may also want something that starts with a “J”, or maybe something that sounds like Jaxson with an “S-O-N” at the end. Or….I don’t know. We can’t really decide. But I will definitely let you know when we figure it out.
As for the photos, we took these photos with Tyler a couple weeks ago in Laguna Beach. And I am obsessed with how they came out! She sent over hundreds of phots and these are some of my faves. Definitely one of my favorite family sessions ever!
