Baby J: 5 Month Update

Baby J is 5 months old.  I missed the 4-month blog update and the 5 month photoshoot.  I might just be in denial that my baby is growing so fast.  The months sneak up on us!  So we can call even and wrap it all up in this update.

Jaxson is the most active, silly and independent little thing.  He just wants to jump out of our arms and explore the world all by himself.  He got a double dose of those independent genes and I am so very proud.  He gives us plenty of smiles and laughs throughout the day.  It is insane how much I crave his little giggles.  When he sleeps, his videos get lots of airtime.

He loves to hold his own book and turn the pages as we read.  Maybe he wants us to skip to the end and move on to the next activity.  Who knows!  Its cute either way.

He has a full social calendar.  Ever since he was only weeks old, Baby J has playdates with his cousins or other baby friends a couple times a week.  I think it helps him develop more awareness and sociability.

He chews on everything in sight, including his fingers, 2 even 3 at a time.  He doesn’t take a pacifier, for which I’m glad now so we don’t have to think about the weaning process in the next couple months.

No teeth yet, but he is teething like a champ.

He rolls around like rolly polly and so close to getting to a sitting position on his own.  He also does a cute little army crawl with his face scraping on the floor as he pushes forward with all his might with his little legs.  Mobility is just around the corner!!! I’m scared!!

We started solids this week with avocado.  He loves it…for a few minutes and then I think he gets frustrated with how slow it fills his tummy.  This little munchkin is demanding.  Hmm…I wonder where he gets that from!

Lastly and most importantly, he is still the best sleeper {praise God!}…11+ hours with one dreamfeed at 11pm.  I’m sure we can cut out the dreamfeed at this point, but we still like the late night cuddle session.  Since he’s fast asleep, it’s really the only time he’s not trying to get up or move around these days.  So we’ll enjoy it for a little while longer.

I love this little dude so much that I cannot even take it sometimes. He is just the best. ever.

Here are some of my fave photos of Baby J from the last few weeks {all home iPhone pics}.  Scroll to the end for a couple fun videos of his giggles and chattiness!  🙂
