Here’s my first big update on Baby J. Time is just flying by so I want to record everything! My iPhone photo stream looks like I have quite the obsession with this cutie pie. Rightfully so. I mean…just look at him! In 18 years from now, I’m sure he’ll thank me that his whole childhood was recorded in my little piece of the internet called this blog. 🙂 Anyway, here goes…
My baby boy just turned 3 months last week! 3 freakin months! Its so crazy to me. I guess it means he’s no longer a “newborn” right? I’m not sure I can handle that. It makes me proud yet very sad. He doesn’t even look the same from his newborn pictures {see them here}.
Jax is the sweetest little guy. He looks at us, processes what he seeing and explodes into the biggest toothless grin and giggles. It makes my heart melt. He loves the word “good morning” for some odd reason. He can’t resist it…makes him so happy. He constantly loves to be held up so he can look and explore everything. He has also turned into the chattiest little dude. We have at least 15 minutes of good giggly “conversation” each morning. Mornings are my favorite time with him!
He’s starting to enjoy tummy time a bit more too. I admit I was really bad at putting him down for tummy time the first couple months just because he seemed to miserable, but now, with a lot of practice the last few weeks, he’s getting so good – lifts his head super high and rolls over like its his job (video below)! And…the baby pushups he does are just so darn cute!
Fortunately, we’ve been on a more predictable schedule. When we’re home, we try to get him to nap and to bed at the same times. Of course, we have to be flexible since we’re always on the go, so its a very loose schedule. But he loves a good routine, just like his mama! 🙂 We transitioned him to the crib early (at 4 weeks old) and we’ve ALL (Daddy included) slept better ever since! He’s a really good sleeper – he’s worked his way up to 10-11 hours at night, and started to get really good at falling asleep on his own, no rocking or shushing needed! He probably knew the CIO (crying it out) sleep training was coming soon. So fingers crossed we won’t even need it! Yea yea, I know sleep regression is on the way, but we’re gonna enjoy it while it lasts!!!! He’s found both his left and right thumbs but hasn’t decided which one he likes better, if at all. Picky little guy!
He’s got quite the appetite, and while still pretty lean, he’s got some nice rolls on him. And don’t get me started on those cheeks! Ahh, I could kiss them all day. And duh, I definitely do. 🙂
These past 3 months have been the best…beyond my expectations! Can’t imagine waking up without seeing his little face everyday. Life with him gets better and better everyday!
