Last week I had the opportunity to attend the Emmy’s and I am so grateful to Dooney & Bourke for the experience.
In my past life in corporate marketing, I used attend award shows and fancy entertainment events often. But when I left that field, I always thought the glam life was behind me. So I am always so appreciative of the opportunity to partner with brands I love and do fun stuff like get dressed up and mingle with the likes of red carpet starlets.
We started the day watching red carpet arrivals. I saw so many gorgeous dresses but my vote for best dressed probably are Sarah Paulson and Portia Doubleday (from Mr. Robot). Talk about beauty and glamour! These ladies were absolutely stunning.
As we headed into the auditorium, I realized our seats were in orchestra, right in the middle of all the action, amongst friends, family and those close to the nominated. It was so cool to feel the excitement and anticipation of the people around as those envelops were being red.

After the show, we immediately headed in the Governors Ball. The official party of the Emmy’s did not disappoint. The decor, the food and the whole ambiance was unreal. The entire convention center was transformed into a outdoor forest setting, complete with stars overhead and lush trees adorned with chandeliers. Truly a Hollywood dream.
Hopefully you caught some of my snaps (on Insta Stories & Snapchat) from the event. And if you did, you know it was a hot one in LA. Luckily I wore a black dress. You know, to hide how much I was sweating under my cool exterior (totally glamorous, right?). I chose a dress by Cinq A Sept with subtle cutouts and buttons detailing the front and sides. I love that the dress looks youthful and fun, but yet so classy! The flared hemline also showcased a glamorous effect fitting for the day. This dress is a midi dress but falls somewhere between a maxi and midi on me. I completed the little black dress with a little black clutch by Dooney! From my favorite Dooney & Bourke collection, Alto, this clutch is classic, structured and made from the softest leather. I really feel like this piece embodies my style so perfectly! I love that the sleek structure makes it appear slim and minimal, but actually fits so much! And I can slip my hand through the front strap for a secure grasp. A detachable strap is also handy when #momlife comes into play. 🙂 It basically is the perfect stylish mom accessory!
