I hope 2016 is starting out well for all of you. I am so excited for a fresh start. A clean slate! Pure and unwritten like fresh white snow!
I usually start thinking about my new years resolutions and goals a few days into it the new year. I believe the excitement and bustle of Christmas and NYE celebrations leading up to it crowd the mind, leaving no room to really focus on dreams, accomplishments, needs, etc. of real life.
I wanted to keep my goals simple this year. Well, isn’t that always the goal? But really, simplicity is key. There isn’t anything about adulthood or motherhood that is simple, so I think this overarching theme will bring a little more ease to the other areas of my life.
2015 was an amazing year for me – a lot of changes, a lot of challenges, but also a lot of opportunity. I mainly focused on two things: baby and blogging. And today Jaxson is a happy healthy little man who is extremely active and already knows the art of manipulation (how do they learn this stuff?!), and this blog which has given me more opportunity than I could have ever imagined in such a short time. Both has brought me so much personal fulfillment that I didn’t know was possible. That being said, the last year left very little time to focus on the other areas of my life like friendships, health and my faith. So this year, I am definitely bringing those up to the front of the list!
Here are my 4 goals:
1. Need God more. Because I do. So much more…even though I don’t realize it myself sometimes. I want to create a deeper relationship with God and incorporate him in every area of my life. And in doing so, instill faith and fearlessness in everything I do.
2. Invest in relationships – Make more time for date nights and wine nights with friends. Easy as that.
3. Invest in my health and body – Working out is definitely a luxury these days. But I know its important to fuel my body so I want….no actually, I need to make a better effort on fitness. As for diet, I say this every year, but really, this year I want to eat clean and cook at home more. Dieting is something I simply can’t do, but I need to stop eating like a 12 year-old child. We actually ate out 8 out of 10 meals last year, which is totally ridiculous. Not only for my body but also our bank account. Think about what I could buy with all the money saved!
4. And lastly, Jetting Jewels. Since blogging is my full-time gig now, I want to push myself to create content that is engaging beyond fashion. Style posts comes a little bit easier and faster for me, but that’s not all I’m about. Exploring other areas of my life interest would be a good next step.
So there you have it! I’ll check in with you next month and see how I make out. ☺ What are your goals & resolutions?
PS – This look was taken on snowy road in Iceland. It was just so white and beautiful, I had to stop and take some outfit photos.
