I’m sure you’ve heard the news….its almost here. THE BIGGEST SALE of the year starts on Thursday 7/13 {for early access shoppers}. Since we’re just days away, I thought I would share how I usually prep for the Nordstrom Sale. These are my tried and true tips for shopping like a Nordstrom pro!
1 – Get the Nordstrom Card – Nordstrom card holders get to shop the sale a whole 8 days earlier than the rest of the world. From my experience, items sell out so quick, so early access is key. If you really don’t want the card, find a friend who does and bribe them to let them use their account.
2 – List, List, Lists! – I always asses my closet and figure out what I need, and categorize my needs/wants by the following:
- Must buy during the #NSale – These things usually include running shoes (always buy the ASICS), beauty necessities like cleansers and moisturizers, a pair of over-the-knee boots, and a pair of booties.
- Winter Wear – Jackets, chunky sweaters and leggings for the upcoming season.
- Shoes – Boots, booties and any good deals on current trends.
- Baby Needs – Jaxson always needs pants and shoes. Seems like he grows out of them so fast.
- Husband Needs – I stock up on basics for the hubbs (polos, jeans and a couple pairs of shoes!)
- Splurge worthy – I always make sure to keep an eye out for a good designer bag or shoes. I remember 6 years ago, I scored a Chloé bag during the sale for about $400 off! I still wear it today so it was such good investment.
3 – Check my calendar – I also check my calendar for the rest of the year. Do I have trips coming up? Ski trip? Beach vacation? Disneyland, maybe? And I buy accordingly.
4 – Shop online EARLY – As I mentioned, things sell out so quick, if you’re eyeing something, buy it! Buy it in multiple sizes (if you’re unsure of the fit) and in multiple colors. You always have the opportunity to return, but exchanges might not be possible since items sell out. Only certain items gets replenished, but I wouldn’t want to take the risk.
5 – And lastly….call my husband and tell him don’t be scared when he gets a call from the credit card company. 🙂 The savings are worth the disapproving look from your significant other…trust me!
Lastly, you can also check out my #NSale page (bookmark it for easy access) once the sale goes live. As early as 6am on July 13th, I’ll have the best and my favorite items posted on this page. There are thousands of items on sale, so I’ll share the cliffnotes version. I’ll also share more realtime sale news on my Instagram.
